Exciting news for BFKAZ thanks to the kindness and efforts of members

First, McNary Schools’ students were given the opportunity once again to choose any book during a recent Scholastic Book Fair. This is due solely to the generous donation from one of our members. I quote, “Because of your donation…the 128 kids attending the McNary School all own a new book they selected for themselves from the Scholastic Book Fair.”
The librarian also noted kids are coming back to buy another book during the fair where in previous years they were only interested in pencils! I have personally seen kids choose a book for their younger siblings—what a delightful tradition these kids are choosing to carry on with their family. This is so exciting! This would not have been possible without your donation, Ruth. Thank You!
Our board member, John Jarchow, submitted an application for the Bookstorm Award through the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library—and WON! We received 1,000 books; and in even more great news, they have offered to provide our nonprofit with more books this fall! Thank you to the donors who contributed during Arizona Gives Day. Your donations will help us reach even more children!
Our mission to put books in the hands of as many children as possible is successful because of the efforts of members, your donations, and nonprofit awards. Books for Kids, AZ also provides Little Free Libraries throughout the Pinetop-Lakeside area. If you would like to help BFKAZ to promote books for kids, please visit our website booksforkidsaz.org. Your donations are used locally to promote the efforts for every child to have a book of their very own to read.
