with Johnny Johnson
Brush off your topwater baits again, starting with your buzzbaits. This time of year, the water will start to cool down and topwater is a great way to catch that lunker bass. Finding some structure to throw your lure at such as brush, trees, rocks, or weeds will be key here in the White Mountains. As far as down on the lower lakes, bass will start chasing the shad all over and you will start to see boils again. A Zara Spook works well for these fish. Trout fishing will start to pick up in the early morning here in the White Mountains. My favorite lure this time of year would have to be a gold Kastmaster in the 1/8-oz. size.
All new Fishing with Johnny Johnson shows have started on Fox Sports AZ and you just might see a few local lakes on television this year. Be sure to check your local listings for times.
